Overview

Business Development Specialist - Litigation at Fenwick & West. This role supports the nationally recognized Litigation practice within the Marketing and Business Development team, focusing on complex commercial disputes, securities litigation, IP litigation, employment, and white-collar matters. This position can be based in any Fenwick US office and offers a hybrid work arrangement (home and office). The frequency of in-office work will be determined by business needs and guided by department directives. Responsibilities

Draft, format, and coordinate client pitches, proposals, and panel submissions in collaboration with partners and BD leadership. Develop and maintain litigation-specific marketing content, including representative matters, experience summaries, and practice descriptions. Ensure messaging aligns with client needs and reflects the firm’s strengths in both litigation and the industries served. Manage the full lifecycle of client alerts, newsletters, and other litigation-related content — from idea to publication. Plan and execute webinars, CLEs, panels, and client-facing events; coordinate with PR and Communications for external promotion and coverage. Drive the submission process for rankings and directories (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation); coordinate with attorneys and Communications to prepare materials and meet timelines. Track and update representative litigation experience for pitches, rankings, and practice materials; collect client wins, speaking engagements, and major initiatives for reporting. Assist with integration of lateral partners and their clients into firm marketing efforts. Collaborate with the Senior BD Manager to implement the litigation group’s strategic business development goals and support cross-practice opportunities (e.g., IP, emerging companies, regulatory groups). Prepare client development briefings, target lists, and competitor research as needed. Qualifications

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy and professionalism. Interest in technology, life sciences, or the litigation landscape is a plus. Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., InterAction), marketing tools (e.g., Vuture or similar), and research platforms (e.g., PitchBook, Monitor Suite) is helpful. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in marketing and business development within a law firm or professional services environment. A bachelor’s degree is required; background in marketing, communications, English, or law preferred. Benefits and Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $84,000 - $120,000. Actual base salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location.
