Transdev provides a broad range of services for the client’s autonomous driving testing and development efforts. The Operations Manager acts as the Transdev operations liaison working with the client’s and Transdev employees. Evaluates and interacts with the vehicle drivers and their Operations team, to include coaching, mentoring, disciplinary actions, hiring, and termination as necessary. They are accountable for shift performance and compliance with processes, training, and system emergency responses. Assures coordination with other shifts and drives process improvements. Acts as an intermediary between the Senior Operations Manager and the shift Operations Supervisors. Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily activity of the Operations Supervisor (OS) to ensure efficient operation of the shift Drive special projects and programs completion assigned by the Senior Operations Manager (SOM) May attend meetings with the client to represent SOM or other functional managers Communicate clearly with Transdev management and the client Support client’s operations leadership team in daily operations management of dispatch, including mission assignment, leading meetings, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders Participate in Lean/Kaizen and other Operational Excellence initiatives Interpret metrics, identify opportunities and implement actions to drive results Ensure compliance with global process standards and drive continuous improvement Perform vehicle driver safety evaluations, ride checks, and retraining; manage the performance-based pay program for subordinate employees; involve SOM for managers’ evaluations Coordinate and supervise subordinates; communicate operational/personnel issues and propose resolutions Ensure daily operation processes are conducted as expected (allocations, start of shift, debriefs) Respond to service problems (outages, rerouting, accidents) and support driver reporting Interact with and assist passengers as necessary Investigate unsafe location/situation reports and propose changes Develop and schedule program work plans with client staff; oversee daily operations and determine priorities Maintain routine records and confidentiality All other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 2+ years of operations experience leading teams Preferred Education: Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field (a plus) 2 or more years of relevant experience desired; some supervisory experience is required Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of service area and ability to read maps Ability to generate reports and schedules on a computer Ability to supervise others and make quality operational decisions Ability to read and interpret system operating rules, regulations, policies, routes Good written and oral communication skills Strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented skills Travel up to 20% of the time On-call and responsive for 24/7 operations Flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays; standing and walking up to 10 hours Physical Requirements
Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting Use hands; talk or hear; climb stairs/ladders Occasionally reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Indoor, air-conditioned or well-ventilated work environment May work in extreme temperatures or damp environments; moderate noise Occasional office or cubicle work with computer Occasionally lift up to 45 pounds Near, far, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Pre-Employment Requirements
