to help grow our water and wastewater engineering practices. This position can be based in Boise, ID; Phoenix, AZ; Pittsburgh, PA; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; or Acton, MA, or from any Geosyntec office in the US. This role is part of a leadership team actively growing the water business and will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to achieve significant market share in the Water for the Food and Beverage market. The role involves working with leading experts and developing new process engineering opportunities, supporting growth in complex drinking water and industrial wastewater projects nationwide, and expanding capabilities for full-service project delivery. This position is suited for a talented, experienced individual who will win and lead innovative water and wastewater projects while collaborating with peers to transform the business. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Collaboration and mentoring are core to Geosyntec’s culture. You will work closely with experienced professionals who will help integrate you into Geosyntec’s culture as you advance in your career. We operate under a sell-manage-do approach, expecting you to work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your knowledge to expand current practices through business development and client management. You will develop a market strategy for water in the food and beverage sector, organize and lead staff to advance that strategy, support market development in other sectors, and serve as project director for large or high-risk projects. Senior Principal responsibilities include staff leadership and mentoring. Key responsibilities for this client-facing role include: Strategic business planning to segment and target industrial, commercial, and municipal clients for water supply, treatment, and reuse projects, focused on the food and beverage market. Engagement with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec’s full-service delivery with market demands of the food and beverage industry. Participation in development and implementation of the firm’s strategic plan and cross-departmental initiatives that impact the company, including practice group involvement, client management leadership, market sector development, and providing business development or technical leadership across offices or practice groups. Implementation of a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients in coordination with company-wide plans. Serve as Client Account Manager on selected critical accounts in the water market. Active participation in professional societies, conferences, and meetings to increase firm visibility and recruit talent; contribute to the profession as an industry leader. Project directorship ensuring client expectations are understood and met, budgets and quality objectives are met, and follow-on work is attained. Recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior and mid-career staff and engineers/scientists. Reviewing and leading major proposals; preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders. Fieldwork as needed, including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting tasks. Travel to client or project sites as required; drive company vehicles as needed. Education and Licensure

Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred) – required. Advanced degree (preferred). Professional registration (e.g., P.E.) – required. Skills, Experience And Qualifications

At least 15 years (20+ preferred) of progressive experience in the consulting industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience – required. Experience with industrial and municipal water supply, treatment, and reuse projects – required. Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations – required. Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams – required. Proven ability to develop and manage clients and grow a practice with junior professionals – required. Strong leadership and attention to detail – required. Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple projects and travel as needed – required. Strong oral and technical writing skills – required. Regular field work and overnight travel – required. OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers preferred; health and safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug/background testing may be required. Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel – required. Seniority level
