The
Assistant Chief Inspector (ACI)
is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of aircraft airworthiness processes. The ACI has the authority to establish and modify policies, procedures, instructions, and information related to Aircraft Airworthiness, Airworthiness Release/Logbook Entry, Required Inspection Items (RII), and Receiving Inspections, as directed by the Chief Inspector. Qualifications
The Assistant Chief Inspector must: Be qualified to exercise control over operations through training, experience, and expertise. Hold a mechanic’s certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings for a minimum of three (3) years (14 CFR 119.67(d)(1)). Have at least three (3) years of maintenance experience on large airplanes (10+ passenger seats) with an air carrier or certificated repair station, including at least one (1) year as a maintenance inspector. Maintain proficiency and currency in Global Crossing Airlines’ operations through company-approved training programs, continuing education, and on-the-job functions in areas such as aviation safety standards, FARs, airline operations specifications, manuals, and maintenance regulations. Primary Responsibilities
Aircraft Conformity and Airworthiness
Approve the addition or removal of aircraft from the Operations Specifications following a conformity check. Assist in maintaining quality control over the Maintenance Ferry Flight process. Oversee and ensure compliance with Airworthiness Release and Aircraft Logbook Entry processes. Verify that all qualified Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) are properly trained and records maintained. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Review, issue, and track Airworthiness Directives (ADs), inspections, modifications, and changes to aircraft, engines, and components. Ensure the MEL is maintained and updated, including RVSM limitations per FAA guidance. Submit regulatory reports such as SDRs, MISRs, and Repair Reports. Maintenance Program & Inspection Oversight
Assist with the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) ensuring FAA compliance. Evaluate and recommend revisions to Technical Operations procedures. Maintain the MEL Effectivity Matrix and update it when necessary. Quality Assurance & Required Inspections
Assist in overseeing Quality Assurance functions and aircraft/component inspections. Support the RII process, including developing and maintaining RII lists, overseeing vendor processes, and training designees. Continuous Airworthiness & Vendor Oversight
Assist with the Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS). Support EMP audits and vendor approvals. Chief Inspector Authority Delegation
Assume the authority of the Chief Inspector in their absence, following company policies. Key Competencies
