The Director of Sales will lead the resort’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth, enhance brand visibility, and increase market share. This role oversees a dynamic team, leads strategic initiatives, and collaborates with leadership to achieve the resort’s goals. The Director of Sales and Marketing will promote Saint John’s Resort, cultivate relationships, and position the property as a top destination in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Saint John’s Resort spans 200 acres with 118 hotel rooms and nearly 100,000 square feet of meeting space. It features three dining/entertainment venues: FIVE Steakhouse, The Wine Grotto, and Doyles Irish Pub. The resort is undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation, including new venues and facilities, with a 50,000-square-foot event space opening in Spring 2025. The property has earned several awards, including Condè Nast Traveller Reader’s Choice and Travel + Leisure recognitions. Sales Leadership

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to increase revenue across corporate, leisure, weddings, events, and group bookings. Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet or exceed goals. Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and local organizations. Manage the sales pipeline and convert leads into bookings. Track and analyze sales performance, reporting on key metrics and adjusting strategies as needed.

Marketing Strategy

Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote rooms, weddings, corporate/social sales, dining outlets, and golf offerings. Oversee digital marketing, including management of resort websites, SEO, social media, and email campaigns. Lead public relations to secure media coverage and brand awareness in target markets. Collaborate with agencies and partners on promotional materials and campaigns. Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all channels.

Event and Group Sales Management

Oversee group bookings, conferences, and events to ensure seamless execution. Develop customized packages with event planning teams to meet client needs. Analyze event performance and client satisfaction to identify improvements.

Market Analysis and Budgeting

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Develop and manage annual sales and marketing budgets and measure ROI. Monitor online reputation and guest feedback to refine strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). 5-7 years of sales and marketing experience in hospitality or resorts, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of driving revenue growth, leading sales teams, and executing marketing campaigns. Strong understanding of digital marketing tools (social media, SEO, PPC, email). Experience with event sales and management for large groups and corporate events. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decisions. Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other sales/marketing tools. Benefits
