Overview
Fresh Dining Concepts is the leading Franchisee of GoTo Foods – the Franchisor for Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, and Jamba Juice. The General Manager is responsible for achieving sales, labor, and food cost targets for store profitability. The role involves day-to-day leadership, supervising and directing staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction, product quality, and safety. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Meet the store’s financial targets by monitoring labor costs, food costs, and sales goals; control and reduce variable operating expenses where possible. Manage store assets, including security and safety. Provide accurate cash handling oversight and timely financial reporting; handle bank deposits and safeguard cash. Monitor inventory, production, waste, and unauthorized giveaways to control cost of goods while maintaining quality. Recruit, interview, and hire staff; direct and coordinate activities of all staff. Enforce uniform policy, dress code, and personal appearance standards. Train and onboard all new and existing staff; determine staffing needs and schedule bi-weekly, coordinating with the District Manager. Provide disciplined leadership: set expectations, coach, counsel, develop, discipline, and terminate employees as needed; participate in hiring, promotion, and wage decisions. Maintain accurate monthly physical inventories and timekeeping for all employees. Review and authorize vendor invoices as directed; ensure timely payments. Direct maintenance of equipment and facilities, including routine cleaning and upkeep. Coordinate with approved service sources for repairs as directed by the District Manager. Complete and transmit required paperwork and reports promptly; maintain operations and personnel files as directed. Coordinate promotional, marketing, advertising, and public relations activities with the District Manager; develop and execute approved local activities and pricing strategies. Maintain good relations with mall management and participate in relevant committees. Comply with all brand and company policies, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Right to Know, EEO, ADA). Operate as a working manager on the front line with the team. Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and requirements are representative and should not be construed as exhaustive. High school diploma or equivalent required; BA/BS preferred, or equivalent experience. Experience coaching and developing teams in a retail environment. Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements/Physical Demands
Must be 18 years old or older. Prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, and repetitive hand/arm motions. Lift 50+ pounds; work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with guests and staff who primarily speak English; communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings. Occasional long hours; ability to train and develop new hires. Willingness to write simple English correspondence as needed. Licenses/Certifications
Reliable transportation. Current ServSafe certification required; if not current, must pass within 30 days of employment. Food Handler Permit as required by local laws; comply with local Health Department requirements. Job Competencies
