Job Summary
The Pre-Sales Application Engineer (Controls) supports the sales and marketing efforts of CIMTEC’s product lines. They review potential applications and provide interpretation of customer specifications to determine the proper equipment to be supplied. Responsibilities
Specify/Recommend appropriate products from CIMTEC's line-card to satisfy customer needs and meet their budget requirements. Conduct demonstrations and online trials of products at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and events. Make field service calls to troubleshoot, fix, replace, or modify existing systems and components. Participate in joint sales calls with the outside sales staff, for the purpose of, lending technical support to their efforts. Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints with urgency, and ensure resolution in a timely manner. Complete understanding of the CIMTEC product line encompassing industrial automation control systems including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), industrial communication devices, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI's), and drives (servo & VFD). Familiarity with modern industrial networks (Ethernet) and communication protocols (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc), and legacy serial communications (RS232/485) Provides expertise in the integration of CIMTEC line card products with devices such as Vision Systems, PLCs, HMIs, or Robots. Deliver training of the automation products sold by our distribution partners for both internal and external audiences. Provides account intelligence to sales when communicating with or visiting customers to help CIMTEC win. Travel (40%): Some travel is required to customer sites or training locations, including occasional stays for multiple nights. Most travel is local or regional, but could be nation-wide. Qualifications
