Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist / Pediatric Nocturnist to provide nighttime inpatient care to pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital.

St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is a tertiary care, 120-bed hospital located in Tampa, including PICU & PCICU. The hospitalist program is staffed by approximately 4 FTE daily and 2 FTE nocturnists, caring for routine and complex children. The position may include teaching residents.

Responsibilities

Provide in-house night shift coverage (typically 7 PM to 7 AM) at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. This is a clinical role with potential teaching responsibilities, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating infants, children, and adolescents in the inpatient setting, primarily overnight.

Responsible to a Chair or appropriate higher-level administrator. Involves teaching, research, service, administrative activities, and academic advising. May represent the university or department at various levels.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Medical degree from an accredited institution; licensure to practice medicine in Florida; three years of appropriate experience or completion of a residency program.

Obtain and maintain a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License, credentials in USF Health faculty practice plan, and hospital staff membership.

Clinical inpatient hospital experience within the last 12 months.

Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics.

Preferred:

Board certified/eligible in pediatric hospital medicine.
