Overview
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist / Pediatric Nocturnist to provide nighttime inpatient care to pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital (a 120-bed tertiary care facility including PICU & PCICU) located in Tampa, FL. The hospitalist program is staffed by approximately 4 FTE daily and 2 FTE nocturnists and cares for routine and medically complex children. This position includes the management of pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children\'s Hospital and may potentially teach residents. Location: 12901 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL, 33612, US Responsibilities
Provides in-house night shift coverage (typically 7 PM to 7 AM) at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. This is a clinical position and may involve teaching residents. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat infants, children, and adolescents in the inpatient setting. Primarily assigned to overnight shifts. Collaborates with hospital leadership and departmental colleagues as appropriate; participates in academic activities and may represent the university, college/school, or department/unit as needed. Qualifications
MINIMUM
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field. Requires licensure to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in accordance with Chapters 458 or 459, Florida Statutes, plus three years of appropriate experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed. Clinical experience in an inpatient hospital setting within the last 12 months. Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics. Preferred
