Overview
Global Indirect Tax Automation Experienced Manager (Tax Technology) at Grant Thornton (US). You’ll implement and build third party tax systems with major ERP and billing platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Great Plains), as well as custom billing systems for clients across various industries. You’ll collaborate with team members and leadership to gather requirements, design, build, and test implementations of third-party software products and our own custom solution to meet client needs. Your day-to-day
Serve as the Project Manager on assigned third-party tax software implementations (Vertex, Avalara, Sovos, Thomson Reuters, ADP, Billsoft) and on custom software development projects Manage system integration projects involving major ERP and billing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards) Perform requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementations Manage programming for custom system interfaces and modification of preexisting interfaces Manage testing and support of liveGo-live projects Develop and deliver key project documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and test plans Lead and develop staff to perform core project activities Participate in Sales meetings and Proposal Development meetings Network and build relationships within Grant Thornton and externally Other duties as assigned Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field Must have one of the following credentials:
Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent certification Master’s degree in accounting, Tax Business Administration, Finance or Information Systems Tax Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation Equivalent accounting certification or law license in home country (e.g., Chartered Accountant)
Five years of experience with SAP/Oracle functional and/or technical experience Two years of Oracle EBS/ERP Cloud/SAP ABAP Design and Development experience Deep technical understanding of SAP or Oracle, including customization paths, table structures, and core functional Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay streams SAP Namespace development a plus Experience writing documentation for ERP implementations Experience managing and developing team members for these implementations Experience in public accounting is a plus Strong computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel as needed Compensation and location
The base salary ranges vary by location: Chicago, IL: $136,000–$204,000; Los Angeles, CA, Bellevue, WA, New York, NY: $146,000–$220,300; San Francisco and San Jose: $156,400–$234,600. About Us and Benefits
