Production Planner- 2nd Shift

The Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing detailed production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and manufacturing efficiency. This role serves as a critical link between demand planning, materials management, and manufacturing operations, ensuring a seamless flow of production from raw materials to finished goods.

Responsibilities:

Production Scheduling & Planning:

Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly master production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and available capacity. Create and release detailed production work orders to the manufacturing floor. Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Monitor production progress against schedules and adjust as needed to address delays, material shortages, or equipment issues. Materials Coordination:

Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of all raw materials and components needed for production. Review MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs and generate purchase requisitions or alerts for material shortages. Monitor raw material inventory levels to prevent both stockouts and excess inventory. Capacity Planning:

Perform rough-cut and detailed capacity planning to identify potential production bottlenecks. Work with manufacturing supervisors to level-load the production floor and optimize resource utilization (labor and machinery). Provide input for long-term capacity planning and capital expenditure decisions. Data Analysis & Reporting:

Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, and production efficiency. Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, backlogs, and capacity utilization. Use data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement. Qualifications:

Required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, related field, or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials management within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles. Preferred

APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is highly desirable. Experience in a manufacturing envinroment Experience with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software. Skills and Competencies:

Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Interpersonal Skills:
