Division Chief - Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Location: Phoenix Shift: Mon-Fri, Days, 8am-5pm Department: PCMG-MAIN | Physical Medicine and Rehab Posting #: 774170 | Employee Type: Full-Time Division Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a leadership role within the Barrow Neurological Institute for Phoenix Children’s. The Division Chief provides clinical leadership, educational oversight, and research direction for pediatric PM&R, focusing on neuromuscular, congenital, and trauma-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership: Provide expert clinical care to pediatric patients with physical disabilities, neuromuscular disorders, congenital conditions, and injuries; develop and implement individualized treatment plans; collaborate with pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, and therapists to maintain a multidisciplinary approach.

Administrative and Leadership: Lead the Pediatric PM&R division; oversee daily operations, resources, growth, and quality improvement initiatives; recruit, hire, and mentor a diverse team; develop and manage the division budget.

Education and Training: Provide educational leadership by developing training programs for medical students, residents, and fellows; promote continuous learning within the division.

Research and Innovation: Engage in clinical research; contribute to publications and conferences; collaborate with research teams to improve outcomes and explore new therapies.

Collaboration and Networking: Build partnerships with other departments, institutions, and community organizations; foster referral pathways and outreach.

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety: Establish and monitor quality metrics; implement evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; pediatric PM&R sub-specialization is preferred.

Eligibility for medical licensure in the practice jurisdiction.

Proven clinical expertise in Pediatric PM&R with a strong record of patient care and outcomes.

Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Strong commitment to education, research, and advancement of the field.

Phoenix Children’s has a 12-bed CARF-accredited inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and operates within Phoenix Children’s Medical Group, collaborating with Barrow Neurological Institute for Children. The position includes coverage of inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient PM&R consults, outpatient physiatry, and multidisciplinary clinics. Interest in program development and botulinum toxin/phenol injections is encouraged. Opportunities exist for clinical research participation.
