APP Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Breast Medical Oncology
Stanford Health Care is seeking a passionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with oncology expertise and a commitment to quality and patient-centered care to join our team in the Stanford Women's Cancer Center. The APP will work 4 days a week in the Stanford Women's Cancer Center clinic, providing comprehensive care to women from diagnosis to treatment and palliative care. The APP will participate in a multidisciplinary Tumor Board, play an active role in clinical trial recruitment, hold independent clinic sessions, and work side by side with world-renowned physicians and surgeons to provide cutting-edge patient-focused treatments. Responsibilities: Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns related to specialty. Obtains complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings. Performs or requests and evaluates diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient. Administers, orders, furnishes and prescribes medications according to written standardized procedures. Initiates arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and completes appropriate paperwork. Recognizes and considers age-specific needs of patients. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure. NP - Nurse Practitioner. NPF - NP Furnishing Number. BLS - Basic Life Support. DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration.
