Role Summary
The
Project Engineer
is a vital member of our construction team, supporting project managers, superintendents, clients, and vendors. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow in the construction industry. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing project needs. They will excel in communication, critical thinking, and collaboration, ensuring tasks are completed reliably and resourcefully from pre-construction to project completion. Essential Duties Project Document Management: Set up, organize, and maintain both digital and hard copy project folders per company standards, ensuring all documents are properly proofread and edited. Subcontractor Coordination: Collect and manage subcontractor Certificates of Insurance, ensuring compliance through consistent follow-up, and regularly communicate with subcontractors on invoicing, RFIs, submittals, and bids. Administrative Support: Assist the Project Manager and Project Executive with estimating, bid proposals, contract administration, and change order tracking. Schedule and coordinate project meetings, distribute meeting minutes, and work with accounting to collect waivers at project closeout. Procurement & Field Support: Help the Superintendent with supply orders, labor coordination, material procurement, and storage, ensuring smooth project operations. Bidders List & Compliance: Maintain and update the company bidders list for the LG Advantage division, and track project submittals and insurance compliance. Qualifications for Success Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred. Efficiently prioritize tasks and identify critical path items. Flexible and solution-oriented mindset. Detail-oriented, resourceful, and process-focused. Frequent, proactive, and effective communication skills. Experience in hospitality, trades, sales, or similar roles preferred but not required. Strong technical, administrative and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Sage 300, Microsoft Project and Procore preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and manuals is helpful but not required.
