Performance Software Engineer, Pixel Camera App — Join to apply for the Pixel Camera App role at Google. Responsibilities

Lead cross-team initiatives to define, measure, optimize, and monitor key performance indicators in Pixel Camera's Android application code. Collaborate with Camera feature and on-device ML teams to ensure features are optimized for speed, memory, and thermals. Develop and utilize telemetry data infrastructure to offer leadership insights crucial for verifiable high performance, reliability, and system health. Provide insights from advanced profiling tools to prioritize and validate improvements. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java). 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Experience with Android development. Experience with performance optimization. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. 3 years of experience shipping embedded software products. Experience with performance and memory optimization. Experience developing Linux, Android, or embedded systems. Experience with TPU, GPU, and on-device ML models. Experience with SQL and data pipelines. About the Role
