Senior Software Engineer, Pixel Camera Performance

Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms. 3 years of experience shipping embedded software products. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience developing Linux systems, Android systems, or embedded systems. Experience with TPU, GPU, and on-device machine learning (ML) models and with SQL and data pipelines. About the job
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The Android and Pixel Camera team is a collection of sub-teams organized around different parts of the camera stack, with some teams focused on Pixel specifically and some focused on the wider Android ecosystem, our mission is to build software experiences on the Pixel phones that lead the entire Android ecosystem. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Responsibilities
Lead (often cross-team) initiatives to define, measure, optimize, and monitor key performance indicators in Pixel Camera's Android application code. Collaborate with Camera feature and on-device ML teams to ensure features are optimized for speed, memory, and thermals. Develop and utilize telemetry data infrastructure to offer leadership insights crucial for verifiable high performance, reliability, and system health.
