Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
is a 28 bed-unit that provides comprehensive medical and surgical intensive care for children from birth to 21 years old. The PICU is Maryland's only Level 1 pediatric trauma center and state-designated pediatric burn ICU for children up to 15 years of age. Medical diagnoses include respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multiiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions, and neonatal and pediatric ECMO. Surgeries include extensive general, cardiac, thoracic, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures. Lead Clinical Nurse (LCN)
provides guidance and direction to staff and acts in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager to oversee a clinical team during care delivery and unit operations. Shifts:
