Waltham, MA . Overview: Join NuoDB, a leading innovator of a high-performance, distributed, multi-cloud capable distributed SQL database. As part of Dassault Systèmes, our novel database powers the globally renowned 3DEXPERIENCE platform underpinning a suite of product design, process management, and collaborative tools running in the cloud. Role & Responsibilities
Lead the way on improving our understanding of NuoDB performance and use your experience and actionable technical insights to help steer development on a multi-year project with ambitious performance and scalability goals. Own end-to-end database performance evaluation and work cross-functionally to identify targets and define KPIs. Investigate system performance issues and deep dive with NuoDB development and application teams on root cause analysis. Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to design and develop test plans and benchmarks for new features. Build automated performance testing and analysis tools for our CI/CD pipeline. Evaluate NuoDB in comparison with competitor databases. Define best practices for NuoDB performance tuning and share them with the vibrant NuoDB user community within 3DS. Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 10+ years of experience as a Performance Engineer on a distributed product, ideally on another distributed database. A sharp QA mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to break down complex problems into simpler components. Strong experience with Linux and system/resource diagnostic tools such as perf. Experience in SQL, OO Python programming, and shell scripting (i.e., Bash). Experience writing reliable performance benchmarks and workloads. Compensation & Benefits
Dassault Systèmes offers an excellent salary with potential for bonus, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents, life insurance, short and long-term disability, tuition reimbursement, immediate 401K enrollment, 401K match (up to 8%), flexible time off policy, and 10 paid holidays. Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $200,000 and $270,000, representing base salary and target bonus.
