Position Summary
The Lead Installer is responsible for completing a variety of tasks associated with quality installation of residential HVAC equipment. The Lead Installer will receive routed work from dispatch, report to the assigned job site on time, and perform work to the company’s quality expectations. All NHS installers will promote warranty products to Pivotal customers. This role requires a valid driver’s license to drive a company vehicle and refrigerant certification. This individual will work and drive safely at all times in maintenance of residential HVAC equipment. This position is based in our Chicagoland office in Naperville, IL. The individual will participate in a rotating on-call schedule and accept off-shift work during peak workload when needed. All technicians will promote warranty products to Oncourse Home Solutions customers.
Responsibilities
Continuously provide the customer with the highest levels of customer service.
Understand and comply with all safety policies, including calibrating gas sensing tools monthly.
Install most furnaces, condensers, humidifiers and accessories with minimal assistance.
Master all electrical wiring of furnaces, condensers and thermostats, including high and low voltage wiring.
Understand and comply with NHS inventory policies and procedures; be accountable for inventory used in his/her work.
Install sheet metal duct systems, connect gas lines, cut and thread pipe, and install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
Complete tasks such as billing customers, ordering parts, and handling paperwork accurately and timely.
Install HVAC equipment according to manufacturer instructions; manage travel time efficiently and participate in inventory activities as needed.
Demonstrate technical competence and use analytical approaches to solve problems.
Comply with corporate and department policies; develop credibility with coworkers and leadership.
Diagnose problems or conditions accurately and use good judgment with customers to provide excellent service.
Collaborate with the PHS Prevention and Safety Team to prioritize safety by reporting good catches from the field.
Maintain productivity, quality and safety metrics as outlined by the NHS Field Operations Department; pursue ongoing training and development.
Work in environments with varying conditions, wear PPE as required, and manage physical duties including lifting up to 50-60 lbs.
Qualifications
High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required.
HVAC certification OR vocational/skill training in HVAC, in lieu of certification.
Valid driver’s license; refrigerant certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites; ability to use an iPad.

Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $50,000 - $70,000 USD annually, with potential for performance-based bonus or commissions depending on qualifications and location.
