Overview
INDUSTRY RELATIONS MANAGER, Questrom School of Business, Finance & Administration. As part of the Feld Center for Career and Alumni Engagement team, the Industry Relations Manager (IRM) will manage relationships with startup/early growth and mid-sized innovative technology employers and business units, including FinTech, MedTech, Cleantech, SaaS, AI for business, EdTech, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and Startups. The IRM will conduct new business development to cultivate employer relationships to enhance career outcomes for Questrom undergraduate and graduate students, expand internship and job opportunities, and increase opportunities for student interviews by effectively marketing the Questrom School of Business.
The IRM will engage employer partners for on- and off-campus recruiting events and activities, collaborate with faculty, student organizations, career coaches, and alumni, and research employer needs to align offerings with Questrom student interests and program needs.
Responsibilities
Job Function 1 (70%): Business development and relationship management
Engage in business development and relationship management activities in support of the school's career outcomes priorities
Establish relationships with new companies and create opportunities for new roles/relationships within existing employer partners
Improve internship opportunities for undergraduate students, focusing on leadership development and rotational programs with strong conversion potential
Engage with existing industry partners to maximize opportunities for students through on- and off-campus recruiting, curricular engagement, and student club activities
Coordinate with the Questrom operations team to ensure well-planned events with high employer engagement
Cultivate relationships to maximize opportunities for roles and programs aligned with school goals
Share information about master's programs and collaborate with specialty master's program career services
Optimize Questrom's relationships with the innovative technology ecosystem and leverage alumni liaisons to broaden opportunities
Job Function 2 (20%): Collaboration with career coaches, faculty, and staff
Meet regularly with career coaches to share employer event and deadline information
Identify students for opportunities and include them in curated resume books
Connect students with alumni for networking and career development support
Collaborate with UG, MBA, and specialty master's program faculty to align curriculum with employer needs
Share opportunities and industry insights with faculty and program leadership
Collaborate with Directors and other IRMs for knowledge/resource sharing and joint events
Coordinate with admissions, DEI, and program offices on career development initiatives
Job Function 3 (10%): Direct student-facing activities
Work with student clubs to create and support career-related programming and events
Engage alumni with student clubs for career development opportunities
Attend student club activities to connect students with alumni
Communicate internship and employment opportunities and deadlines to student clubs
Hold virtual office hours to discuss employer/recruiting questions and timelines
Required Skills
B.A. or B.S. or equivalent required
5+ years related experience in executive search, corporate relations, development, or major account sales and marketing
Marketing and sales expertise
Familiarity with executive search, college placement, or university development
Demonstrated ability to set and meet targets
Excellent time management, written and oral communication
Ability to work well with others and develop professional networks
Ability to travel throughout the year (travel to major metropolitan areas; occasional trips nationwide/international)
