The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) HIV/Viral Hepatitis Clinical Education Coordinator will be responsible for: (a) providing clinical education to NCCC’s external users/learners via the program’s teleconsultation services and public-facing resources; and (b) in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and Clinical Director, designing and delivering NCCC’s multi-component clinical educational programming. The NCCC’s Clinical Education Coordinator will utilize clinical acumen on HIV, viral hepatitis and substance use care to provide clinical education to NCCC users across teleconsultation services, and will work with the Principal Investigator and Clinical Director to identify and execute NCCC’s clinical training priorities.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical education to NCCC’s external users/learners via teleconsultation services and public-facing resources. Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and Clinical Director to design and deliver NCCC’s multi-component clinical educational programming. Coordinate with subject matter experts to present relevant and timely clinical topics to NCCC staff, supporting ongoing professional development. Facilitate reviews of relevant new research and updated clinical guidelines to inform NCCC programming. Organize NCCC’s evidence libraries and internal clinical protocols to keep content up to date. Coordinate the NCCC’s Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) Preceptorship to develop HIV care expertise among external learners. Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of NCCC’s multi-component educational programming and recommend improvements. Provide clinical education directly to NCCC users via teleconsultation, including handling incoming calls from clinicians on HIV, viral hepatitis, and related conditions. Perform administrative/operational duties: collect and document education/training activity data for reporting, prepare materials, participate in quality improvement activities, and support regulatory/compliance tasks as appropriate. Interface with diverse internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and integrity; contribute to standardized workflows and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training. Graduate-level degree in a health professions field (e.g., MD/DO, MSN/DNP, Masters in PA studies, PharmD). Valid license as Physician, Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Pharmacist. Minimum 5 years experience analyzing clinical studies and incorporating new developments into clinical practice/guidance. Minimum 5 years of HIV primary care clinical experience; topics include HIV screening/testing, primary care, ART selection, resistance testing interpretation, opportunistic infections management, drug interactions/toxicity, PrEP initiation/management, and STI/BBP screening. Minimum 3 years of viral hepatitis care clinical experience (screening, liver disease staging, antiviral strategies, resistance testing interpretation, drug interactions, prevention of transmission). Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders; diplomacy and professional integrity. Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to lead projects from inception to completion on schedule. Expert knowledge of educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning; ability to facilitate technology-enabled education. Demonstrated competence in clinical practice, communication, case management, leadership, problem solving, and clinical teaching/training. Ability to document encounters accurately and timely.

Preferred Qualifications

Board Certification in Family Medicine, Infectious Diseases, or General Internal Medicine. AAHIVM certification as HIV Specialist or HIV Pharmacist, or HIV Clinical Fellowship experience. Perinatal HIV care experience (3+ years): HIV screening in pregnancy, labor/delivery interventions, management of exposed infants, antiretroviral management during pregnancy/postpartum. Experience preventing and managing complex blood-borne pathogen exposures (HIV, HBV, HCV). Substance use primary care experience (3+ years): SUD screening/diagnosis, withdrawal management, treatment initiation/maintenance, toxicology interpretation, harm reduction, pharmacotherapies for SUD. Experience training diverse groups of clinical learners; cross-functional collaboration with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.

Salary, Benefits and Employment Details

The salary range for this position is

$110,400 - $235,400

(Annual Rate). The final offer components are subject to UC policy and internal equity. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity. Appointment percentage:
