The opportunity EY Private Tax is a growing practice within the organization, focusing on privately held companies, from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. These high-growth private companies often move from start-ups to multi-billion-dollar global private companies. You will work on technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects and have opportunities to progress to manager with ample support and training from experienced colleagues. Your Key Responsibilities Support managers through partners in providing tax services, balancing time between compliance and planning, and interacting directly with clients, with a focus on flow-through entities (partnerships). Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting for cross-border tax compliance (foreign partnerships, foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, and foreign affiliate reporting). Provide tax research, draft tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers. Liaise with other service lines and subject matter professionals; build long-term client relationships and tailor services to client needs. Explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients; maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and share best practices. Review the work of junior staff; identify risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills And Attributes For Success To qualify for the role, you must have A bachelor’s degree in a related field, with tax, business, or financial planning experience. Active progress toward or possession of CPA certification or membership in The Bar. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization. Willingness to work in a balanced hybrid environment and travel as needed. Ideally, you will have A commitment to continuing your learning. Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or LexisNexis. Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus. Base salary ranges: $82,000–$135,200 (nationwide); $98,500–$153,600 for NYC Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento). Salaries based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Total Rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k), and paid time off options.
