EY Private Tax is a growing practice focused on privately held companies, from family-owned businesses to private equity owned companies. The work includes technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects, with opportunities to progress to manager. Your Key Responsibilities
Support managers through partners in providing tax services. Balance time between compliance and planning, interacting directly with clients focused on flow-through entities (partnerships). Be a trusted advisor and role model across multiple teams, developing a diverse network of colleagues. Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting for cross-border tax compliance (foreign partnerships, foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, and foreign affiliate reporting). Provide tax research, drafting tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers. Liaise with other service lines and subject matter professionals. Build effective long-term client relationships and tailor services to client needs. Communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients. Maintain and share technical knowledge and best practices. Review the work of junior staff. Identify risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills and attributes for success
To qualify, you must have: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with tax, business or financial planning experience. Active progress towards or possession of a CPA certification or Bar membership. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills; confidence to engage diverse stakeholders. Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional services or professional tax organization. Ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment and willingness to travel as needed. Ideally, you will have: Commitment to continuing learning. Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or Lexis Nexis. Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus. What we look for

Comprehensive compensation and benefits; base salary ranges vary by location. For all locations: $82,000 - $135,200. NYC Metro/WA/CA ranges: $98,500 - $153,600.
