Overview
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Technical Manager to join our team within Vistry East London, at our Brentwood office. As our Senior Technical Manager, you will manage the technical matters relating to a number of projects or a single complex one and supervise the work of other team members in their own tasks. You will demonstrate a pro-active approach to design development, working within a team environment from the project’s inception through to its completion. You will be tasked with the control of the complete design process involving the management of consultants, liaison with the relevant statutory and local authorities and other internal and external stakeholders as necessary. To ensure the designs comply to all necessary legislation, associated standards and Vistry Group specification, policy, and procedures. Your role requires an excellent base level of Health & Safety, Environmental and Technical knowledge, including a good working knowledge of the Highways & Drainage, Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, Planning, and Affordable Housing. Manage the technical matters relating to projects (single complex project or multiple projects) and supervise other team members. Demonstrate pro-active design development within a team from inception to completion. Member of a professional body e.g. ICE, CIAT, CIOB, MCIAT Principle Designer and associated Health and Safety training/qualifications Experience with Viewpoint drawing management system; proficient use of AutoCAD Management of technical fees and services cost to complete Continued professional development and keeping up to date with industry changes Experience of people management and project leadership More about the Senior Technical Manager role
Comply with Life of Site procedures Undertake the Principal Designer role under Construction Design & Management Regulation 2015 and complete necessary Health, Safety & Environmental documents Ensure delivery of surveys and reports for development and manage related requirements from design to completion Manage consultant fee proposals and formal appointment documents in line with Group procedures Manage consultants to deliver civil engineering designs including legal plans and house type working drawing packs Obtain and collate ancillary specialist drawings and ensure buildability is considered Undertake value engineering assessments Submit designs for technical approvals and secure agreements (S104, S38, S278) and complete related legal agreements Oversee utility designs and initial mains laying, ensuring legal agreements are completed on time Prepare drawings and documents for engineering and superstructure elements for tender, construction issue, and sales handover Coordinate street naming with local authority and manage plot lists and distribution Assist in management of fees and provide recommendations for appointments Support production of Sales brochure, legal and sales handovers; provide information for Housing Association contracts Attend progress meetings and assist with planning conditions discharge Monitor and report technical and development fees including S106 obligations; resolve technical queries with site visits and progress meetings We build more than homes, we’re making Vistry.
