Senior Electrical Power Engineer

The Senior Electrical Power Engineer candidate should have experience within the utility-scale power and renewable energy industry and be capable of leading teams for power generation design projects, including supporting in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role. The role involves developing, contracting, and implementing natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor. Responsibilities
Lead power generation design projects for utility-scale and renewable energy initiatives. Support in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role, including project reviews with management. Mentor junior engineers and manage client relationships. Lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals. Direct activities of other engineering professionals and provide technical leadership on power plant systems. Collaborate with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews. Travel for meetings and site visits as needed (less than 10%). Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis. Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Strong knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design, system grounding, and related design activities (lighting, instrumentation and control, life safety). Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively in a consulting or engineering environment. Experience in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, and balance-of-plant designs. Experience mentoring staff and participating in business development activities. Travel less than 10% for client meetings and site visits. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis. Experience with engineering power consulting or EPC firms. Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently or as a lead on multi-discipline teams. Extensive knowledge of power plant systems and related design activities. What We Offer
