Primary Purpose Transmission & Substation (T&S) Standards are responsible for maintaining and developing new standards and engineering practices that ensure standardized, efficient, safe, and cost-effective designs. This position focuses on Transmission & Substation SCADA Engineering Design Standards for voltages including 765kV, 345kV, 138kV, 69kV, 34kV, 12kV, and 4kV. T&S Standards include Engineering Practices, Engineering Standard Practices, Material Specifications, Construction Specifications and Generic Design Drawings. The role involves reviewing, updating, and facilitating the development of T&S design standards, collaborating with T&S groups to ensure effective standard implementation, providing technical expertise to strategic, legislative and operational decisions, and working with other Exelon companies to create, update, and apply internal/industry design standards and technology. Trains and mentors others. May require extended hours for coverage during storms or energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for a specific class of T&S Standards including Engineering Practices, Engineering Standard Practices, Material Specifications, Construction Specifications and Generic Design Drawings: Transmission & Substation SCADA Engineering Standards Act as point of contact for technical questions related to material application and design standards Work with Vendors on material design improvements and implementation Collaborate with Equipment Specialists, Relay & Protection, Substation Engineering, Transmission Engineering, Capacity Planning, Transmission Planning, Testing & Commissioning Engineering, field groups, etc. to set design and material standards and applications while ensuring safety, effectiveness, and constructability Perform assignments independently and may lead multi-discipline teams Provide recommendations for management and implement action plans to improve reliability Provide detailed technical training, mentorship, peer review, and guidance to others Interface with industry groups such as IEEE, EPRI, EEI, MEA to introduce new design improvements and materials Investigate common points of failure modes and trends to support material or design standard improvements and extent of condition analysis Job Scope

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with 7+ years of professional engineering experience; detailed knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches and engineering theory Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods, and practices unique to areas of expertise Minimum of three related career experiences or equivalent qualifications; may include leadership in industry committee or PE license plus advanced technical degree or PM certification Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues Notes on experience reductions: Master’s degree and PE license may reduce OJT requirements by up to one year; combined reductions are limited to one year total Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of SCADA & Communications engineering designs, principles and practices Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Strong teamwork, interpersonal and cross-level communication skills Strong written and oral communication skills Working knowledge of applicable analysis software packages Ability to analyze industry-wide trends and implement enhancements Benefits

Annual salary range: $100,800.00/Yr. – $138,600.00/Yr.
