This position provides guidance on historical designs, fosters innovation toward standardization, and offers technical leadership while mentoring engineers in the department. Transmission Overhead spans more than 5000 circuit miles and oversees projects with voltages at 69kV, 138kV, 345kV, and 765kV. Responsibilities include clearance analysis, PLS-CADD Modeling & Design, and modifications or new installations of transmission structures, switches, and conductors. The role requires coordination with stakeholders such as FAA, environmental groups, permitting bodies, and municipalities, with added complexities due to FERC and NERC compliance. The candidate should have knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and FAD Tools to ensure seamless integration with the team and reliable system operation. This position may require extended hours for storms or energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties
Lead and perform assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise; maintain state-of-the-art credentials in the technical area. Lead engineering tasks and projects that are complex or critical, possibly including field testing, troubleshooting, and peer review. Evaluate, develop, implement and lead projects with significant financial and operational impact; develop commissioning plans and deliver documentation. Participate in department planning through field/site walkdowns, meetings, budget consideration, and performance monitoring to achieve results. Perform tasks independently and may lead multi-discipline teams; may oversee contractors. Serve as an expert in a specialized area and provide expert opinions as required. Provide recommendations to management and actionable plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness. Provide technical training, mentorship and guidance to others; participate in technical societies and committees to stay current on new technologies. Job Scope

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer; knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices. Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Problem-solving skills and engineering theory application. Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods and practices in the area of expertise. 7+ years of professional engineering experience; thorough knowledge in related areas. Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues. Minimum of three related career experiences or lead member of a recognized industry committee; or Professional Engineer license, advanced degree, MBA or Project Management Certification. Degree-related notes may adjust experience requirements as specified in the original description. Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree or graduate work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification. Licensed Professional Engineer; strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
