Overview
The Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Division of Hematology-Oncology within the Department of Pediatrics, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC) are recruiting an internationally recognized leader to serve as the Medical Director of the Solid Tumor Program. This individual will oversee clinical and research activities, and work with CBDI leadership on Program expansion. The position includes an academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine at the level of Associate Professor or Professor, appropriate to training and experience, and membership at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. The CBDI is the largest and top-ranked pediatric hematology-oncology program in the western U.S. The Solid Tumor Program focuses on multidisciplinary, individualized care for pediatric solid tumors and conducts bench-to-bedside research to develop and deliver innovative cancer therapies. The program has an active clinical trials operation and collaborates with leading international consortia. Responsibilities
Oversee clinical and research activities for the Solid Tumor Program. Collaborate with CBDI leadership on program expansion and strategic direction. Conduct and contribute to research integrating laboratory and clinical science to develop novel therapies for pediatric solid tumors (e.g., sarcomas, neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, liver tumors, kidney tumors). Support and leverage a large clinical trials program and participate in multidisciplinary patient care. Qualifications
Academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine at the level of Associate Professor or Professor, appropriate to training and experience. Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $116,505-$517,500. Strong administrative, clinical, research and financial support will be provided, including staff, infrastructure, endowments, and institutional resources. About USC and CHLA
