Overview
Clinical Nurse II - Perioperative (CVOR) provides direct patient care in a Perioperative unit, including CVOR, Cath Lab, Operating Room, Recovery Room/PACU, Pre-Admission Testing, Pre/Post Unit, HOI areas, and related surgical services. Responsibilities
Collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality patient care. Provide physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administration, specimen collection, nutrition support, and teaching and discharge planning for assigned patients. Apply the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluate and adjust the nursing care plan as necessary with consultation; engage resource personnel when ethical/legal/medical dilemmas arise. Perform other duties as assigned and participate in department clinical ladder requirements as applicable. Qualifications
One (1) year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience in an acute care hospital required. Alternatively, recent completion of the Hoag Perioperative Training Program. Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Certifications & Licensure
Registered Nurse in the State of California — current and in good standing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to clinical rotation. CVOR: ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Preferred Certifications & Licensure
Operating Room (OR): CNOR preferred.
