Senior Director, Finance, Business Development
MSK is hiring for the Senior Director, Finance, Business Development role. In this role, you will collaborate with executive leadership as a trusted financial advisor and lead financial efforts for a diverse portfolio of business development and growth projects, including expansion projects, joint ventures, partnerships, and affiliations.
Responsibilities
Financial Business Development: Provide financial leadership and strategic direction as a core member of the corporate development team to identify, assess, and prioritize growth opportunities.
Financial Analysis and Modeling: Lead and review the creation, execution, and analysis of complex financial models, forecasts, and evaluations to determine financial viability and returns of corporate development initiatives. Assess alternative business models, pricing strategies, strategic investments, and capital allocation.
Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date on laws, regulations, trends, and market dynamics in the healthcare industry. Maintain knowledge of private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds, including investment themes, valuations, and exit strategies.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry experts and potential partners, while identifying new opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with legal teams on transaction agreements and perform due diligence with external partners to evaluate fit and assess financial value. Negotiate financial terms for deals and support post-deal execution, budgeting, and synergy monitoring.
Team Development: Mentor and develop analysts and project leaders while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across the department. Build and strengthen internal talent, coaching team members on deal strategy, valuation, negotiation, and due diligence skills.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in financial leadership within corporate development, strategy projects, and M&A/JV execution in a large healthcare system or academic medical center. Consulting backgrounds welcome, especially when combined with direct healthcare industry experience and ability to operate within complex, matrixed organizations.
Expertise in capital markets and corporate finance, including debt and equity markets, with the ability to think strategically and tactically about financing alternatives.
Proven track record of leading successful M&A/JV transactions from landscape analysis through post-deal integration.
Brings a balance of strategic maturity, patience, and resourcefulness — comfortable navigating ambiguity, taking calculated risks, and driving progress across diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong executive-level collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills.
CFA and/or CPA preferred.

This is a hybrid role based in New York City, with expectations to be in NYC for key meetings and collaboration needs. We are open to candidates willing to relocate.
MSK offers a competitive, performance-based bonus structure aligned with individual and organizational goals.
Compensation and Status Pay Range: $219,600.00 - $373,300.00
