Description Western State Hospital (WSH) in Lakewood, Washington is seeking Psychiatrists to lead multi-disciplinary inpatient treatment teams for general adult, geriatric, and forensic populations. Essential skills include strong psychopharmacology expertise and collaborative work with other professionals. WSH is one of the largest psychiatric hospitals west of the Mississippi River, with over 800 beds and about 2,500 staff.
WSH provides evaluation and inpatient treatment for adults with serious or long-term behavioral health issues, including forensic, civil, and geriatric wards. Responsibilities include certifying medical necessity, prescribing medications, ongoing patient assessments, and developing discharge or continued inpatient plans.
Qualifications
Valid medical license in Washington State and successful completion of an ACGME-approved Psychiatry residency.
Strong psychopharmacology skills and ability to work collaboratively.
