– Psychiatrist (Coalition) with an initial target salary of $311,424. Application review begins immediately. The Special Commitment Center (SCC), part of the Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA), is seeking a psychiatrist with experience or interest in working with individuals with various paraphilias and personality disorders to join the team on McNeil Island. The SCC is committed to providing evidence-based treatment to reduce recidivism and increase public safety. Responsibilities

– Basic duties include certifying medical necessity of hospital-level care, prescribing and reviewing appropriate medications and treatments, performing ongoing assessments of patient response to treatments, and developing and reviewing a release plan or justification for continued inpatient status. The position requires traveling to and from McNeil Island by ferry. The ferry ride is considered commute time and is not a paid portion of the workday. The ferry schedule may be affected by severe weather or tides. Pierce County employees are eligible for a free ORCA card for transportation. On-site work at this location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Qualifications

A valid license to practice medicine and surgery in Washington State and successful completion of an ACGME approved residency in Psychiatry. Strong psychopharmacology skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals. Benefits for Psychiatrists
