Biochemistry & Molecular Biology - Asst. Professor. The candidate will serve as an Assistant Professor on the tenure earning track at the Peggy and Harold Katz Family Center. This position focuses on advancing knowledge in nephrology and biochemistry through innovative research, mentoring students, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance kidney health and disease prevention. Key Responsibilities
Conduct independent and collaborative research projects in nephrology and biochemistry, focusing on kidney disease mechanisms and therapeutic interventions. Develop and implement research methodologies, analyze data, and interpret results to contribute to the scientific literature. Actively seek and secure external funding through competitive grants to support research initiatives. Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the center’s goals and priorities. Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in research projects, fostering their academic growth and skills. Contribute to the educational mission of the Katz Center by teaching courses related to nephrology, biochemistry, and research methodologies. Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and researchers within the Katz Center and affiliated institutions to promote interdisciplinary research and enhance the center's impact. Participate in collaborative research efforts and contribute to joint publications and presentations. Engage with community outreach programs on kidney health education and disease prevention. Build partnerships with healthcare providers and organizations to facilitate the translation of research findings. Qualifications
PhD in Biochemistry, Nephrology, or a related field. Demonstrated research expertise with a strong publication record in reputable journals. Experience in securing research funding and managing research projects. Proven teaching and mentoring experience, committed to fostering student success.
