Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult psychiatric patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Mentor and support nursing students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for all patients
• Engage in ongoing professional development and psychiatric nursing training

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an adult psychiatric or behavioral health setting
• Prior travel nursing experience (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• VA psychiatric nursing background (required)
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination or declination required
• CPI certification (can be obtained on site if not currently active)
• All credentialing documents must be submitted 1 week prior to start date li>

• Location: Lynchburg, VA (24503) – Virginia psychiatric nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Adult Psychiatric Unit
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025, End: 1/31/2026)
• Weekend Coverage: Scheduled every 2-3 weekends
• Float Requirement: No floating required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,730 - $1,850 per week
