We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Operating Room (RN-CVOR) to join our surgical team. The RN-CVOR will play a vital role in supporting complex cardiovascular procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, managing surgical instruments, and coordinating with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the operating room.
• Assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures including open-heart surgeries, vascular grafts, and other complex cardiovascular interventions.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and ensure a sterile surgical environment at all times.
• Prepare the OR with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to procedures.
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and document intraoperative events accurately.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical technologists to ensure efficient and safe procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions with sound clinical judgment.
• Participate in pre-operative assessments and post-operative patient care planning.
• Maintain compliance with all safety standards, infection control protocols, and documentation reqirements.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) or related surgical environment.
• Proficient understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instrumentation.
• Strong organizational and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous experience with robotic-assisted cardiovascular surgeries or advanced OR technologies.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and surgical scheduli ng systems.

Certifications (if any)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – required.
• CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) – preferred.
