PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Nursing Job in Boise, Idaho

- Facility Setting: PICU, Acute Care
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekends as needed
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each)
- Floating: Required to float to Pediatrics, NICU, and sitter assignments as needed
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100 - $2250
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Idaho or compact state
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience
- Proficient in EVD and trach/vent care
- Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris pumps preferred
- Skilled in titrating drips (propofol, fentanyl, epinephrine, etc.)
- Competent in cardiac strip interpretation
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the Boise facility
PICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, family-centered nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a 12-bed PICU
- Manage patients with trach/vent, DKA, respiratory, surgical (trachs, g-tubes, shunts, hernia repairs, seizures); no cardiac cases
- Titrate and monitor various IV drips as required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including pediatricians, respiratory therapists, and monitor techs
- Float to Pediatrics, NICU, and provide sitter coverage as needed
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing professional development
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR
