Pediatric RN Job Details

• Location: Boise, ID 83712 (Idaho nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Pediatrics – 41-bed unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 20, 2025 – December 20, 2025)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating: May float to NICU; occasional sitting for pediatric patients
• Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each)
• Charting System: EpicCare Inpatient EMR
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs

Pediatric RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho or compact state
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• CPHON certification preferred for pediatric oncology care
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Clinical experience with respiratory, diabetic, surgical (trachs, g-tubes, shunts, hernia repairs, seizures), SI, and mental health pediatric patients
• Ability to work nights and weekends as scheduled
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the Boise facility

Pediatric Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in an inpatient hospital setting
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with pediatricians, charge nurses, and patient care technicians to ensure optimal outcomes
• Float to NICU as needed and provide sitting for pediatric patients
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and family-centered environment for patients and families
