Travel RN Job Details – Columbus, Ohio
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
- Facility: Major academic medical center, Surgical/Trauma/Burn ICU
- Unit Size: 38 beds, average census ~28
- Employment Type: Travel RN contract
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
- Floating: Required to float within the hospital system
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940-$1990
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Experience in Trauma Level I or Burn ICU preferred
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Ability to provide 2 professional references (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
SICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care to adult and geriatric populations in a major academic medical center
- Manage ventilators, CRRT, invasive monitoring, and post-surgical/trauma patients
- Assist with advanced procedures: bedside tracheostomies, PEGs, bronchoscopies, large surgical dressings, line placements
- Administer blood products, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and more
- Float to other nursing units within the hospital system as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and medication management with Pyxis
