OVERVIEW The
Cisco Network Engineer
is responsible for developing and integrating the network communication requirements for the LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, VPN services, wireless, security appliances, and associated management tools. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills and is comfortable working with cross functional teams in a business-like manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS
Build and support data networks comprised of Cisco core, edge, and wireless technology Provide support of the network infrastructure environment, respond to escalation notices, perform root cause analysis, and problem resolution
Job Description - Requirements
Required:
Experienced building, deploying and supporting Cisco enterprise class routers, switches, and wireless technology Configuration and Deployment of physical and virtual Enterprise wireless LAN controllers, access points, and networks Configuration of wireless LAN controllers in Highly Available (Redundant) deployments Configuration of wireless networks using 802.1X authentication, preferably using Cisco ISE Configuration and Troubleshooting wireless networks with EAP-TLS 802.1X authentication Configuration and Management of wireless infrastructure with Cisco Catalyst Center Configuration of ISE policy sets, including their conditions and results elements Wireless design and deployment using survey testing and map layouts, preferably with Ekahau tools Patching and upgrading the wireless infrastructure - including wireless LAN controllers, APs, Catalyst Center, etc. Troubleshooting using Cisco ISE logging, wireless LAN controller debugs, etc. Troubleshooting using active and passive wireless surveys, using wireless devices, and survey software (preferably Ekahau tools) Desired:
Familiarity/Configuration of DNA Spaces Familiarity with FlexConnect Architectures Familiarity with MDM environments Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline desired (a combination of training, work experience and education may be considered) Cisco CCNA (either CCNA wireless, or 2020 CCNA that includes wireless) Other requirements:
Excellent oral and written communication skills Capable of analyzing data, recognize problems, and draw logical conclusions Team work; establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with those contacted during the course of the work day Ability to produce and present technical information on network technology platform solutions and trends Comfortable working at heights including ladders, scissor and boom lifts up to 30' Available to work off hours during the evenings and weekends as required Possess a valid Driver's License issued by the state of Oklahoma or ability to obtain within a reasonable time-frame
