We are seeking a Custodian / Facilities Specialist to support day-to-day operations across GLEs offices, laboratories, and industrial areas. This role ensures our site remains clean, functional, and compliant with safety and security standards.

What Youll Do
Facility Cleaning and Upkeep
Perform routine janitorial duties: sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restroom sanitation. Manage waste disposal, including controlled waste streams. Maintain cleanliness of offices, labs, and industrial areas. Restock supplies and monitor inventory needs.
General Maintenance and Repairs
Complete light repairs such as painting, replacing bulbs, and basic carpentry or plumbing. Conduct preventative checks and report issues to Facilities or Operations leads. Assist contractors during service or inspection work while maintaining access control compliance. Support operational projects by moving furniture, equipment, and materials.
Safety, Security, and Compliance
Operate in accordance with company safety, environmental, and security standards. Report unsafe or abnormal conditions immediately. Follow LOTO, confined space, and PPE procedures as required. Assist in emergency or corrective maintenance responses.
What Youll Bring
U.S. Citizenship (required) - eligibility for NRC Q security clearance. High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience in industrial or government environments. Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance techniques. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Active or prior security clearance. Experience in DOE, nuclear, or other regulated facilities. Familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain). Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., NetSuite, Maximo).
Working Conditions
Routine physical activity: lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, climbing ladders, prolonged standing/walking. Work performed indoors and outdoors across industrial and administrative areas. May include after-hours or on-call rotation support.
Important Note This role requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an NRC Q-Clearance.
