Overview
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment. Keeps egress clear. Reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
- Assists Customers with merchandise, answers questions politely and knowledgeably. Greets Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly greeting; thanks Customers at register transactions.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers. Responds to Customer Service calls and involves Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store and a clean work area, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
- Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and well merchandised to standards.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards where applicable.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions.
- Follows policies concerning cash, checks, charge transactions, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintains accuracy in handling tenders.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds (some Stockroom shifts require up to 20 pounds).
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
