General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed and may be requested to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all duties.
- Maintain high situational awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment and keep egress clear. Report or correct unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
- Assist Customers as needed, including register duties, guidance on merchandise, and answering questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Provide prompt and efficient customer responses; handle issues courteously and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store and replenish restroom supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to keep the store neat, clean, and well-merchandised.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per guidelines to support monthly presentation.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information and company assets.
- Follow MOS policies and cash handling procedures with accuracy.
- Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Standing, walking, and moving around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Some assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
