Responsibilities

  • Travel daily with an independent work structure.
  • Be available for emergency calls 24/7 unless on PTO or off-call.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
  • Perform battery repairs, replacements, installations, and scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Interact with customers and provide technical support.
  • Communicate availability to the office and team leads.
  • Protect proprietary information and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Use electronic and electrical test equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate onsite subcontractors as necessary.
  • Maintain vehicle safety and insurance compliance.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Attend product-specific training and cross-train with other technicians as needed.

Additional Duties

  • Inspect power electronic systems, including UPS, batteries, static transfer switches, and power distribution units.
  • Certify system compliance with quality standards and codes.
  • Review and verify system drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance, perform maintenance, and advise site personnel.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting batteries and working at heights up to 60 feet.
  • Use various instruments like multimeters, infrared cameras, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Be available for 24/7 on-call work, possibly requiring overnight travel.

Supervisory Controls

Work under general supervision, with assignments based on schedules and priorities. Exercise initiative within established policies. The primary goal is to ensure power system reliability, availability, and quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years OEM experience in power electronic systems maintenance and repair.
  • Experience with UPS systems, batteries, electrical apparatuses, and related equipment.
  • AA/BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent training.

Candidate Expectations

  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, plans, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of NEC, maintenance, and quality procedures.
  • Strong diagnostic and testing skills.
  • Proficiency with laptops and software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to undergo training and certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
