Responsibilities

The Critical Power Group maintains, services, and troubleshoots UPS systems, batteries, and other critical infrastructure equipment. Our technicians are factory trained on major UPS brands like MGE/APC, Liebert, Toshiba/Mitsubishi, and Eaton. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency repairs at high-profile facilities, and providing engineering support to customers and divisions.

  • Travel daily with an independent work structure.
  • Be available for emergency calls 24/7, excluding PTO or off-call times.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
  • Install and repair static switch and PDU systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Interface with customers and communicate status updates.
  • Use electronic and electrical test equipment as needed.
  • Manage on-site subcontractors.
  • Maintain vehicle safety and insurance compliance.
  • Ensure work meets M.C. Dean standards.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and timely.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Maintain technical documentation.
  • Attend product-specific training as required.
  • Cross-train team members as needed.

Additional duties include:

  • Inspect static switch systems and associated controls.
  • Certify systems adhere to quality standards.
  • Review system drawings, specifications, and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance and perform inspections and maintenance.
  • Maintain proficiency with various testing instruments.
  • Be available on a 24/7 basis when on call, with potential overnight travel.

Supervisory Controls

Work is under general supervision with assignments based on schedules and priorities. The role involves independent action within established policies, with work reviewed for adherence and quality. The primary goal is to ensure reliability, availability, and quality of power systems.

Qualifications

  • AA/BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent training.
  • Minimum one year of experience with UPS systems, batteries, and electrical apparatuses.

Candidate Expectations

  • Ability to interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Knowledge of NEC, maintenance, and quality control procedures.
  • Skill in diagnosing malfunctions and testing techniques.
  • Proficiency with laptops, software, and communication devices.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to undergo manufacturer training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Pay Range

USD $31.99 - USD $38.00 per hour.
