Responsibilities

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company while you process each customer’s order quickly, accurately, and efficiently while ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service. You will accurately handle customer cash, credit/debit payments, and change, assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints. Following all front end procedures, assisting with stocking shelves, facing and dusting as needed are all a part of the day for a Sprouts Farmers Market Cashier. A Cashier maintains knowledge of weekly ad items, guides customers to product locations, stays informed about events and seminars, and maintains excellent communication with the front end manager and Head Cashier. You are expected to ensure checkout areas are clean and orderly and to execute other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Dependable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment.
• Ability to perform repetitious activities, multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry product up to 30 lbs. for distances and durations as described, and move grocery carts up to 35 lbs. for limited distances as described.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; cash handling and math skills; ability to read, write and count.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17.30 - $21.75 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
