Job Summary

The Restaurant Server oversees day-to-day operation of first class customer service and food service in the restaurant. Responsibilities include properly receiving food orders and conveying them to the cook staff, ensuring prompt food delivery, and maintaining cleanliness of the assigned serving section. The role requires providing excellent customer service at all times and being a strong teammate to the franchise partner.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time in a clean and complete proper uniform
  • Greet all customers with a smile and a verbal greeting
  • Review the menu with customers when needed, suggestively sell products, and take orders from each customer at the table
  • Submit tickets to the cook’s station using proper, approved abbreviations
  • Deliver food in a timely manner to the customer when food is ready
  • Handle money from customers, account for all tickets and receipts, and ensure all tickets are rung up and closed before the shift ends
  • Complete the position checklist while stocking and preparing the unit for the next shift
  • Perform prepping and cleaning duties as assigned, including bussing tables, sweeping and mopping, cleaning bathrooms and walls
  • Report any concerns to the manager immediately, including safety concerns and customer service issues
  • Know the menu and daily features, and suggest add-ons and desserts as appropriate
  • Follow the Huddle House steps of service with each guest to maximize shift sales

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all restaurant staff
  • Some previous restaurant experience preferred
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to work during your shift
