Position Summary
Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Days off: Sunday and one rotating day off
Responsibilities
- Review load sheets for delivery routes and verify correct product(s) and amounts are loaded to assigned trailers.
- Rotate product in warehouse to ensure the correct coded product is shipped to eliminate waste and minimize returns.
- Continuously check for and remove damaged goods to ensure only quality product is shipped to customers.
- Load each product according to assigned specification/diagram safely using equipment such as pushers, squeeze trucks, forklifts and pallet jacks. Ensure proper load bars are in place and loads are evenly distributed.
- Send loads that are accurate while maintaining an efficient pace.
- Identify and pick inventory for loading and staging based on customer load sheets; may involve picking corrugated and un-corrugated product (up to 45 lbs) from shelves and moving items on wheeled racks and throughout the warehouse.
- Unload trucks/trailers using a hook or pallet jack; physical labor may include pushing/pulling heavy items (up to 200 lbs) and loading/unloading racks (up to 800 lbs).
- Pull empty and full milk cases stacked up to 7 high (up to 200 lbs) with repetition.
- Manually remove product from conveyor systems and stage to maintain production flow.
- Dispose of returned product by manual handling and disposal processes.
- Wash trailers/trucks after unloading.
- Work cooperatively with managers, supervisors and peers.
General
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures; demonstrate knowledge of safety areas reviewed in orientation.
- Execute assigned duties with minimal supervision and be available for required overtime to support business needs.
- Perform duties in a timely and satisfactory manner and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Actively participate in special teams representing the warehouse department and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- GED or High School Diploma preferred
- Reading & writing proficiency in English and ability to identify colors
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Multi-tasking ability and ability to work independently with little supervision
