Job Summary

Directs and coordinates all activities of production department. This includes, but is not limited to receiving, batching, storage, filling, and packaging of all products produced at the facility. This is accomplished by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Core Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm. Additional or adjusted hours may be requested based on business need.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating all activities involved with the scheduling and allocation of resources necessary to produce all finished products.
  • Ensure all products produced meet all quality requirements.
  • Direct organizational operations, projects, or initiatives to achieve production goals.
  • Hire, train, and otherwise manage personnel in accordance with essential duties of all managed job roles and in accordance with company culture.
  • Ensure all company and OSHA safety requirements are met and maintained.
  • Work closely with other department managers to maximize efficiency of the operation.
  • Operate the department within financial constraints of planned budget.
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing.
  • Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational issues.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum results.
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolve worker grievances or escalate unsettled grievances as needed.
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production records and documentation.
  • Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific tasks.
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed goods or services within budgeted constraints.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of production supervisory experience. Minimum Associate degree in food science or manufacturing preferred.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. The pay range for this position is $96,700 - $116,500 USD.
