Located on the southeast Atlantic coast in Brunswick, GA, CCGA is an undergraduate college in the University System of Georgia with an outreach through the Camden Center in Kingsland, GA. The College offers an affordable education in the Golden Isles region.

Responsibilities

• Cleans buildings, classrooms, restrooms and drinking fountains.
• Dusts and cleans chalk boards and offices; cleans windows, walls, glass doors and classroom equipment; may work from a ladder; polishes brass.
• Collects and empties trash.
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips and waxes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Reports damaged structures and equipment; maintains entranceways to buildings.
• Moves office furniture and equipment; assists in setting up facilities for special events.
• Performs related work as required.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to report to work on time and be dependable in attendance.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Some custodial experience is preferred; experience with commercial floor care equipment is desirable.

Salary

$15.25 / hr

Abilities, Knowledge, & Skills

• Ability to exercise care in exposure to chemical, mechanical or electrical hazards.
• Ability to follow routine oral and written instructions.
• Work long hours at manual tasks and to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Work is typically performed while intermittently standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching; may lift light to heavy objects and use equipment requiring dexterity; use of sense of smell.
• Work may occur in offices, stockrooms, various college buildings and outdoors; exposure to weather, noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery, and irritants; use protective devices as needed.

Knowledge

• Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and tools used in custodial services.
• Knowledge of related equipment (e.g., rotary buffers and carpet extractors).
• Knowledge of safe work practices.

Conditions of Employment

• Successful completion of background investigation and legal authorization to work in the US prior to employment.
