Overview

The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Custodian to perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of assigned City buildings, facilities and grounds.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, strip and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment; wash windows, mirrors and walls blinds and shutters; clean and polish metal fixtures.
  • Clean desks, tables and counter tops; empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles; dispose of bio-hazardous materials.
  • Clean and disinfect drinking fountains and restrooms; replenish and maintain restroom supplies.
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment.
  • Open and secure assigned buildings and facilities.
  • Organize and maintain storage rooms and equipment.
  • Participate in a variety of light landscaping activities including shoveling snow, mowing grass and trimming shrubbery.

Application Process & Additional Information

From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, 10 year criminal history records check in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration and driving history check.
